Spent today sub-teaching at Umatilla High in shop. Duty consisted mainly of making sure the kids didn't amputate digits, and wore safety glasses. There are always a few who are resistent to the most basic safety precautions. They're bulletproof! Accidents happen to the other guy, eh? For my part, while mon tiroing their activities...a pretty easy job, actually, I managed to sand the three pieces that will make up the back of the bench seat. Too cold to go into my shop. No heat. The propane ran out and I need a new bottle. Haven't seen the sun in days. Terrifically foggy, since we're so close to the Columbia. The frost is thick and everywhere. A beautiful sight.

About me?? Retired - well, sort of retired - schoolteacher. Subsitute teach in the local school which brings in pretty good bucks...and, not a bad gig once the kids and teachers get to know you.
Live in a small eastern Oregon town on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. Semi-desert terrain, mostly farms and ranches. Industry nonexistent. Quiet little town. Lu is a Nurse Practitioner and one of the sweetest, hardest-wrking people I've ever known. Lu and Jesus are my lodestars. We're Seventh-day Adventists, meaning we  believe and and talk of the immenent return of Jesus. We attend church on the Sabbath as the Lord intended, and still intends. Sabbath is a day of rest, for us.
